In an attempt to escape the hustle and bustle of Obon week in Japan, I decided to make a short trip to South Korea.

The round trip lasted a little less than a week starting and ending in Seoul. By car the journey around the country took me from the bustle of Seoul via the outlook to north Korea and the demilitarized zone to the ancient tombs of Gyeonju and majestic fortress of Suwon.
